Communications Supervisor honored for 25 years of service

For 25 years of service to the citizens of El Paso, Communications Supervisor Rodolfo “Rudy” Armendariz was honored by City Manager Tommy Gonzalez, Mayor Dee Margo and the City Council meeting on Aug. 22. He also received a service pin and a plaque.

Armendariz started with El Paso Water Utilities on April 27, 1992. He transferred to Communications in September 1997 as a Public Safety Dispatcher. As a Police Dispatcher, Armendariz monitored police radio system and maintained an accurate location of assigned police units and he provided detailed information to ensure officer safety.

He was promoted to Public Safety Shift Supervisor in December 2010. As a supervisor, he provides leadership and direction to his assigned employees and ensures sufficient personnel are on duty to answers 911 calls and dispatch police units. As a supervisor, Armendariz also reviews 911 emergency calls for quality assurance to ensure they followed established policies and procedures. He has been a licensed Texas Communicator and is IAED certified since 2009.
