EPFD Donates Christmas Gifts to Nonprofit Organizations

It is always better to give than to receive…

Helping people in a personal way is a grand gift to us all. That is what the El Paso Community Foundation’s 34rd Annual Spirit of Giving Campaign is all about– donating gifts to children, the elderly, and people with special needs from different nonprofit organizations across the city.

El Pasoans have donated more than 61,000 gifts since 1989 and members of the El Paso Fire Department have been leading the charge among all the participating agencies since 2020.

This year, the EPFD received 200 gifts tags: 100 of them went to the 911 Communications Center, 80 to the Training Academy (staff and trainees) and 20 to KFOX14-TV’s marketing team who also wanted to help.

The nonprofit organizations this year were: Aliviane, Center of Hope, EP Center for Children, La Familia De El Paso, Centro de Salud La Fe, Paso Del Norte Children’s, Reynolds Home and Southside Volunteers.

*Special thanks: TA Staff / Class 101 Trainees / Adriana Carreon, Public Safety Shift Manager / 911 Communications personnel / Veronica Davis, Senior Marketing Consultant for KFOX14-TV / KFOX14-TV Marketing team / Ms. Lucy West, Coordinator for the Spirit of Giving Campaign.

About Spirit of Giving Campaign:

The tags bear the stories of boys, girls, men, and women served by nearly two dozen local nonprofit organizations. You select the tag with the story that moves you, purchase the gift desired, attach the snowflake tag to it, and place it in a gift bag. The organizations then pick them up and pass them out a couple of days before Christmas.
